As soon as you complete all the process, you get the option of taking an online appointment, in which the applicant is asked about the date on which you have to book the appointment.
And since the date is available, you have to physically visit the Passport Seva portalย or Regional Passport Office on that booked appointment date.ย
Step by Step Guide To Apply Passport Online
- First of all you have to go to the official website of Passport Seva portal and register by clicking on New User Register Link. Enter all the required details and fill up the form.
- In this registration form you have to select the Passport Office that you would like to visit. After filling registration form, type and fill the captcha and click on โRegisterโ.
- After completion of Registration process you have to Login to the Portal with your login ID & Password.ย
- If you are applying for a passport for the first time then you should have to click on โApply for Fresh Passportโ or if you have your passport expired and you want to re-issuing your passport, the you have to click on โRe-issue of Passportโ. Apply for Fresh Passport and Re-issue of Passport both option will appears together within one link, so donโt hesitate . You can click any one of them.
- Please enter all the required details truely and then click on โSubmitโ button.
- Now after submitting the form, you have to pay for your passport fees. Then Click on Pay button and make Schedule your Appointment by clicking on the Schedule Appointment link.
- Now you have to select the date at what you want to schedule your appointment. Please remember to print the application receipt by clicking the โPrint Application Receiptโ link after paying the fees.
- Now after payment you will get an SMS by portal with all the details of your appointment booked.
Now your online process is complete and now you have to be physically present at the Passport Seva Kendra or Regional Passport Office on the appointed date booked by you.
Remember that you have to carry all the necessary documents along with the application receipt you have applied for.
If your passport is applied under normal mode then it will usually take 30-45 days for you to get the passport. But if you have applied for passport in tatkal mode then you will be issued passport in 7-14 days.
